How to create a folder on Android

The great thing about Android is that it allows its users to keep the apps and data perfectly organized. If you have installed many different applications on your phone or tablet such as social networking, music, productivity apps or games, the icons of those apps do not have to be all around the screen. Instead, you can create a folder, name it properly, and drag the apps you want into that folder. For instance, you can create the folder for music or social networking applications you are using or the folder in which you’ll put all your games. It’s up to you. Let’s see how to do that.

Before we continue with the guide on how to create a folder on Android phone or tablet, keep in mind the steps I am going to show you may not be exactly the same on your device, as it may depend on the Android version (the Android version on the pictures below is 4.3). Even though the steps may not be the same, they will be similar, and you’ll easily figure out the ones for your device.

To create an Android folder, find one of the apps on the screen, tap and hold it and then drag it onto some other app.

Moving the app out of the folder is also very simple.

You can open the folder, click on the +, find and select the app you want to remove from the folder, and then click OK.

The other option is to open the folder, tap and hold the app you wish to remove from the folder and just drag it out of the folder. Simple as that.

As I mentioned at the beginning, if you have a bunch of apps you can create a folder or several folders, and keep your Android device perfectly organized and neat – it’s simple!
