Snapchat is officially the biggest Android performance killing app

When it comes to any smartphone, no matter if it’s Android or iPhone there are certain apps that have a huge impact on the performance of the device, such as Facebook and Spotify.

While you may think that Facebook is to blame for the poor performance of your Android device, the app that turns out to be the biggest Android performance killing app is actually Snapchat. Snapchat was launched in September 2011, and today it’s one of the most popular apps with more than 100 million daily active users.

A global leader in security software, AVG Technologies conducted a survey on more than a million Android phone users, and shared the list of top 10 applications that use the most mobile data, clog the storage and drain the battery. According to their global AVG Android app report (Q2 2015), Snapchat is the king of all the apps.

“Forget Facebook, Spotify, or any of the preinstalled apps: In Q2 2015, Snapchat dethroned them all”, AVG said.

“Did you know that while it runs, it makes use of the camera, Wi-Fi/mobile data and GPS functionality, simultaneously? This explains the high battery life and traffic consumption.”, AVG added.

They divided the list into apps that run in the background, where you can find Facebook, Google Play Services, Facebook Pages Manager, Words with Friends, Instagram, etc. and the apps that users run by themselves where the Snapchat is the leader, followed by Amazon Shopping UK, Spotify Music, LINE, Samsung WatchON, Netflitx, and more…
